St. Xavier’s College, Thumba in association with Marian Arts and Science College conducted a religious harmony gathering against narcotics at Aikara auditorium of the college on October 7, 2022 at 11.00 am. The gathering officially begun by the inter religious prayer session led by Adv. Fr. Jose Thachil SJ- Bursar of the college. Principal, Dr. (Fr.) V Y Dasappan SJ delivered introductory address followed by presidential address by Dr. (Fr.) Jose Mathew SJ- College Manager. The function was inaugurated by Hon. MLA of Chirayinkeezhu, Sri. V Sasi.
H.E. Mathews Mar Polycarp (Auxiliary Bishop of Thiruvananthapuram Major Arch Diocese), Swami. Sandeepananda Giri (Director, School of Bhagavathgeetha, TVM) and Dr. P Naseer (Principal, Mannania College of Arts and Science TVM) addressed the gathering. Fr. Pancretius A (Manager, Marian College of Arts and Science) and Dr. Francis Sunny (Principal, Marian College of Arts and Science) felicitated the gathering. Sri. Praveen J S, Inspector of Police, Kazhakkuttam led the pledge against narcotics. Coordinator of Anti-narco club, Dr. Renju R Krishnan and convener of the club Dr. Priya Suboj delivered welcome speech and vote of thanks respectively. Around 1000 students participated in the programme.
