1 July 2024, Thumba: St. Xavier's College, Thumba, celebrated the inauguration of its first Four Year UG Programme (FYUGP) batch as part of 'Viknjanolsavam,' the statewide launch of the program. The event marked a significant milestone in the college's history, coinciding with its 60th anniversary.

During his inaugural speech, MLA V. Sasi highlighted the evolving educational landscape, stating, "In response to changing times, the government now welcomes investments from the private sector aimed at improving the educational sector."

Dr. Asha Nair, a scientist and associate dean at the Rajiv Gandhi Center for Biotechnology, served as the chief guest. Emphasizing the importance of health in a student's life, she remarked, "A healthy mind and a healthy body are essential for the new Indian population."

The session commenced with cultural programs, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Nisha Rani, the Principal, who provided a brief history of the college. Other distinguished guests included Dr Fr Sunny Jose Manager of the college, Mr. Francis Jefferson, Block Panchayath Member; Mr. Sunil John, PTA President; Mr. Sheen Jose, Superintendent of St. Xavier's College.  Dr. Fr. Shibu Joseph, FYUGP Programme Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks.  

The state-level FYUGP inauguration ceremony, attended by Chief Minister Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan and Higher Education and Social Justice Minister Dr. R. Bindhu, was live telecasted at the event, further enriching the celebrations.
