Report on the Physics Alumni Meeting Held on 4 January 2025 at Stan Swamy Auditorium

On the evening of 4 January 2025, the Department of Physics hosted its much-anticipated alumni meeting at the Stan Swamy Auditorium. The event brought together a small but esteemed group of participants, including five retired faculty members (Dr. Antony AV, Sri. Bejoy John Philip, Smt. Pushpa Augustine, Smt. Elsy and Dr. Tessy Chacko) who had made significant contributions to the department during their careers.

The meeting began with a warm welcome from the organizers, followed by introductions from the attendees. The alumni shared their professional journeys and experiences since leaving the university, with special reflections from the five retired faculty members who had been an integral part of the department's academic development. Their presence added a sense of nostalgia and deepened the connection between past and present members of the department. In addition, the evening also featured a small cultural program organized by the participants.

After the formal discussions, the group moved to the sky-watching session, which was the highlight of the evening. Dr. Mahesh, Assistant Professor from the department of Physics, guided the participants in observing the night sky through the newly purchased telescope. This session offered a rare opportunity to observe celestial objects up close, and the enthusiasm of the attendees was palpable as they explored various astronomical phenomena under Dr. Mahesh’s expert guidance.

The event concluded with a brief session of refreshments, where attendees had the chance to relax, mingle, and discuss the evening’s events further. The refreshments provided a perfect end to a memorable evening filled with engaging conversations, scientific exploration, and cultural celebration.
