St. Xavier’s College, Thumba, Celebrates Diamond Jubilee with Grand Inauguration

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 31: St. Xavier’s College, Thumba, inaugurated its Diamond Jubilee Celebrations with a grand ceremony, marking 60 years of academic excellence and social commitment.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. R. Bindu, Honourable Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, Government of Kerala, who praised the institution’s immense contribution to educational empowerment in the coastal belt. Sri. V. Sasi, Member of the Legislative Assembly, presided over the function.

College Manager Dr. Fr. Sunny Jose S.J. welcomed the gathering, while Principal Dr. Nisha Rani D. proposed the vote of thanks. The program also featured a keynote address by Dr. Jagathy Raj V.P., Vice-Chancellor of Sreenarayanaguru Open University, and a benedictory address by Very Rev. Msgr. Eugine H. Pereira, Vicar General, Thiruvananthapuram Latin Archdiocese.

The inauguration marks the beginning of a series of academic and cultural events, including a National Seminar, Inter-Collegiate Elocution and Quiz Competitions, Go-Kart Exhibition, Literary Festival, and Science Exhibition. These events will culminate in the formal closing of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in March this year with  valedictory funtion.
