Orientation Class on Civil Service Examination: Empowering Students for a Brighter Future

As part of its ongoing efforts to support student development, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of St. Xavier’s College, Thumba organized an orientation class on the Civil Service Examination on February 12, 2025, at the Mother Theresa Hall. The event was designed to provide students with valuable insights into the examination process and the opportunities available in the civil services.

The session commenced at 1:30 pm with a welcome address by Dr. Renju R Krishnan, IQAC Coordinator. Dr. Nisha Rani, Principal-in-charge, inaugurated the program and delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the importance of civil services in nation-building.

The orientation class was led by Mr. Jayakrishnan, State Coordinator of the Kerala State Civil Service Academy (KSCSA). He provided a comprehensive overview of the different services under the civil services, including the duties and responsibilities associated with each service. Mr. Jayakrishnan also explained the role of civil service in nation building, examination schemes and shared valuable techniques for cracking the examination. Accompanying Mr. Jayakrishnan were Mrs. Prameela Manoj, Coordinator, and Mrs. Bhavya K Narayan, Educator, from the Trivandrum center of KSCSA. The session included an interactive Q&A segment, where students' concerns and queries were addressed.

The orientation class was attended by 50 students from various disciplines across the college. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Renju R Krishnan, IQAC Coordinator. This initiative by IQAC reflects the college's commitment to providing students with opportunities for growth and development, empowering them to pursue their dreams and make a meaningful impact in society.
